keeping businesses connected
Customer & location: Barbers Cheese, Somerset & Dorset
Requirement: Wireless Network
About the Company: The Barber family started making cheese on their Somerset farm in 1833 and are now the oldest surviving cheddar-makers in the world.
Case Study Details: Barbers turned to Data Path to provide a robust wireless solution to enable a roll-out of a barcode scanning stock control system.
Initially Data Path carried out detailed RF surveys at both of Barbers sites, followed up by detailed reports with heat maps and access point locations.
A Ruckus solution was chosen with R610 access points of office areas and T310 IP rated access points for manufacturing and warehouse areas. Dual ZoneDirector 3000 controllers were installed at each site to provide failover redundancy. Data Path engineers installed Excel Cat6a shielded cabling to access points in tricky environments.
Since implementing the customer has had a robust and scalable system to support their stock control, with 100% uptime.
