Case Study Details: Bournemouth town hall is a Grade II listed building, in the centre of Bournemouth. Data Path were engaged to provide a solution to the existing network infrastructure within the building, which had become untidy and difficult to maintain. The main challenge was creating a containment system which had to adhere to 18th Edition standards, provide future capacity and one that had to be approved by the council’s heritage department. This process took several weeks, and involved the creation of various, powder coated mock-ups for approval. The project also involved a mass removal of legacy voice cabling & containment, new comms rooms, 24-core fibre links and a complete Cat6 network cabling system.
The town hall extension (not listed) was also re-cabled by the Data Path team, and this included 1,200 new CommScope Cat6 Outlets and 5 x OM4 24-core fibre links.
Project Highlights:
1,750 Cat6 network outlets
7 x 24 core fibre links
A bespoke metal trunking system
Mass legacy cabling removal
